The Yealink MeetingBar A40-010 is an all-in-one Android video bar for small and medium meeting rooms of up to 12 people, supplied with the Yealink VCR11 remote control. Its two 48MP cameras combine into a single 4K picture with a 110° horizontal view, and eight microphones pick up voices up to 6 metres away. Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms run on the bar itself, with no meeting room PC.

Why the Yealink A40 Suits a Medium Meeting Room

The A40 is a 650mm bar that holds the cameras, microphones, stereo speakers and meeting software for the whole room. Yealink rates it for up to 12 people. Two optional expansion microphones can be added for longer tables, and two HDMI outputs drive a pair of displays.

It is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom Rooms, runs Android 13 and is built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP). This version of the A40-010 kit adds the VCR11 remote control to the standard A40 package.

How the Dual 48MP Camera System Works

The A40 has two 48MP cameras. Their images are stitched together into one picture with a 110° horizontal, 54° vertical and 120° diagonal field of view. Combining two lenses gives a higher pixel density than one lens alone, so faces at the far end of the table stay sharp.

Video output runs at 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps, with 6x digital zoom and nine preset camera positions. Depth of field is 1 to 5 metres, and the cameras have wide dynamic range, auto exposure and a minimum illumination of 0.5 lux in daylight mode.

AI Framing that Gives Every Participant a Clear View

IntelliFocus runs on the A40 itself and shows live close-ups of up to four of the most recent speakers, so remote attendees get a clear view of each person who talks. Auto Framing keeps the whole group in shot, Speaker Tracking follows whoever is speaking, and People Counting reports how many people are in the room.

Video Fence draws a boundary around the meeting space. Yealink says anyone outside it is neither seen nor heard in the call, so people passing a glass wall or talking in the corridor stay out of the meeting. Smart Gallery is available on Zoom Rooms only, and an electric lens cap covers the cameras when they are not wanted.

Stereo Speakers and 6 Metre Voice Pickup

Eight MEMS microphones pick up voices up to 6 metres from the bar, with high-quality pickup within 4 metres. AI noise suppression, echo cancellation, automatic gain control and reverberation suppression clean up the sound, and full-duplex audio works up to 3 metres away.

Two 10W speakers give stereo sound at up to 92dB SPL at 1 metre. For rooms where people sit further than 6 metres from the bar, the A40 supports two expansion microphones, sold separately.

Two Displays and Content Sharing

The A40 has two HDMI outputs, each up to 4K 30fps with HDMI CEC support. A room can show remote participants on one screen and shared content on the other.

The USB 3.0 Type-C port accepts video input up to 4K 30fps for wired sharing from a laptop. HDMI input is available through the Yealink VCH51 sharing kit, sold separately. In Teams Rooms, content shares at 4K 30fps locally and 1080p 30fps in a meeting. A 3.5mm line-in and line-out port connects external audio.

Teams, Zoom and BYOD on Android 13

Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms run natively on the A40, and RingCentral is supported. In General Mode the bar makes H.323 and SIP calls. In BYOD mode a laptop uses the A40 as its camera, microphones and speakers for meetings in third-party apps.

Full disk encryption with AES-128 or AES-256 protects stored data. Device attestation protects the bar's identity, and Arm TrustZone protects its keys.

Managing A40 Rooms Remotely

The A40 can be managed from Microsoft Teams Admin Center or Intune, Zoom Device Management, RingCentral Admin Center, or the Yealink Device Management Platform and Management Cloud Service. Each bar also has an HTTPS web portal.

Firmware upgrades, configuration changes and log exports can all be done remotely. Bars can be set up by auto-provisioning, and a configuration from one room can be exported and imported into another. The A40 connects by Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and needs 10Mbps or more.

Reasons to pick the A40-010

  • Longer tables covered: two optional expansion microphones extend pickup beyond the bar's own 6-metre range
  • Dual-screen rooms: two HDMI outputs show people and content on separate displays
  • Mounting options in the box: both a wall mount and a TV-Clip Mount are supplied
  • Camera privacy: an electric lens cap closes over both cameras
  • Manufacturer warranty: a 2-year limited hardware warranty from Yealink

Who the Yealink A40 Meeting Bar Suits

The A40 is built for small and medium meeting rooms, project rooms, small boardrooms and training rooms seating up to 12 people. The stereo speakers and 6-metre pickup cover a full-size meeting table, and expansion microphones extend the room further.

For focus rooms of up to 5 people, the Yealink MeetingBar A25 is the smaller option.

Compatibility and what Else is Needed

  • Microsoft Teams Rooms - Certified for Microsoft Teams
  • Zoom Rooms - Zoom certified
  • Laptops (BYOD and General Mode) - in General Mode, also called BYOM (bring your own meeting), a laptop connects to the A40 by USB and uses it as the camera, microphones and speakers for meetings in third-party apps. Content from the laptop shares at up to 4K 30fps
