About the Antenna Splitter

Increase coverage with the EnGenius SN-ULTRA-AS Antenna Splitter. Its main purpose is to expand the coverage area of your EnGenius DuraFon or FreeStyl Phone System by allowing you to connect two External Antennas to a single Base Station.

Antenna Splitting

The Antenna Splitter takes the signal from a single Antenna port on your DuraFon or FreeStyl Base Station and divides it, allowing you to connect two separate External Antennas (like the SN-UL-AK20L or SN-UL-AK20L-IND).

Increased Coverage

By using two Antennas in different locations, you can effectively cover a wider or more complex area, overcoming obstacles that might block the signal from a single Antenna. This is particularly useful in large buildings, across multiple buildings, or in areas with signal dead spots.

Compatibility

The Antenna Splitter is compatible with all EnGenius DuraFon Systems (DuraFon SIP, PRO, UHF, TAP, 1X) and FreeStyl Systems (FreeStyl 1, FreeStyl 2).

Connectors

It typically uses Reverse Thread TNC Connectors, which are standard for EnGenius 900MHz Antenna accessories.

Included Cable

The Antenna Splitter includes a short length (1m / 3ft) Low-Loss Coaxial Cable allowing the Splitter to be connected to the Base Station.

Durable Design

As it's often used in commercial or demanding environments, it usually features a robust casing.

Important Information:

Signal Loss

Whilst it expands coverage, it's important to understand that splitting a signal inherently causes some insertion loss (signal attenuation). EnGenius generally recommends not using more than one splitter in a deployment, as excessive splitting can weaken the signal to a point where the benefit is offset by the loss.

Optimal Placement

For best results, the two Antennas connected to the Splitter should be placed strategically to maximise coverage without causing excessive interference.
