Next-Generation Wi-Fi 6

Featuring the 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 standard, the Archer AX12 delivers improved speed, capacity and network efficiency compared with previous Wi-Fi generations.

Advanced technologies including OFDMA and 1024-QAM help make more efficient use of available wireless bandwidth, providing a responsive network for homes where smartphones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, games consoles and other devices may be connected simultaneously.

Dual-Band AX1500 Wireless Speeds

The Archer AX12 provides combined wireless speeds of up to 1501Mbps, split across two frequency bands:

The faster 5GHz connection is ideal for bandwidth-intensive activities such as HD and 4K streaming, online gaming and large file downloads, while the 2.4GHz band provides connectivity for everyday wireless devices.

Connect More Devices with OFDMA & MU-MIMO

Modern homes often have numerous devices competing for wireless bandwidth. The Archer AX12 uses OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology to communicate more efficiently with multiple compatible devices.

This helps reduce network congestion and latency while improving overall efficiency, making the router suitable for households where several users may be streaming, browsing, gaming or working online simultaneously.

Broader Wi-Fi Coverage with Beamforming

Four fixed high-performance external antennas help distribute wireless coverage throughout the home.

Beamforming technology detects connected devices and concentrates wireless signal strength towards them, helping provide stronger and more reliable connections, particularly for devices located further away from the router.

Gigabit Wired Connectivity

For devices that benefit from a wired network connection, the Archer AX12 provides one Gigabit WAN port and three Gigabit LAN ports.

The Gigabit WAN interface supports compatible broadband connections up to 1Gbps, while the three Gigabit LAN connections can be used for compatible desktop computers, smart TVs, games consoles and other Ethernet-enabled equipment.

WPA3 Wireless Security

The Archer AX12 supports the latest WPA3-Personal Wi-Fi security protocol, providing enhanced protection for compatible wireless devices.

Additional network security and management features include an SPI firewall, access control, IP and MAC binding, separate guest networks and parental controls, giving users greater control over who and what can access their network.

Parental Controls & Guest Wi-Fi

Built-in Parental Controls help you manage your children's internet access by allowing inappropriate content to be blocked and online access times to be controlled, helping encourage better online habits.

Separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz guest networks can also be created, allowing visitors to access Wi-Fi without providing access to the primary home wireless network.

Easy Setup with the TP-Link Tether App

The Archer AX12 can be set up and managed using either its web-based management interface or the TP-Link Tether App.

Available for compatible Android and iOS devices, the Tether App provides convenient access to network settings and management features from a smartphone or tablet.

OTA firmware updates also make it easier to keep the router up to date. Updates can be performed through the management panel, with automatic update scheduling available to help keep the router's security and functionality current.

Router or Access Point Mode

The Archer AX12 supports both Router Mode and Access Point Mode, providing additional flexibility when adding Wi-Fi 6 connectivity to a home network.

Access Point Mode allows the AX12 to be connected to an existing wired router or network and used to provide wireless connectivity, rather than operating as the primary router.
