About the Motorola R2 Analogue

The MOTOTRBO R2 is engineered for efficiency. It's a Rugged Radio that's lightweight and easy to handle, offering superior long range performance and flexible audio settings. The R2 integrates easily into existing systems, making it a reliable tool for continuous operation throughout your shift.

The R2 is designed to shrug off the bumps, dust, and moisture of an active workday, ensuring reliable communication when you need it most.

Exceptional Durability

With an IP55 environmental rating, the R2 Radio is secure against both dust ingress and water, making it fully suitable for harsh, wet, or dusty environments

Military Standard Ruggedness

The R2 meets MIL-STD-810 standards across 11 environmental conditions, proving its resistance to shock, vibration, humidity, and extreme temperatures.

Sleek Yet Tough Form Factor

Despite its robustness, the Radio is remarkably slim and lightweight (weighing less than 290g with the high capacity battery), ensuring it’s comfortable for users to carry and operate over long shifts.

Superior Audio

In loud workplaces, communication clarity is non-negotiable. The R2 delivers superior audio performance tailored for the analogue user. Equipped with a powerful Speaker and low distortion, the R2 ensures your messages are received loud and clear, even over the noise of machinery or traffic.

Configurable Audio Profiles

Users can adjust the amplification of low, middle, or high frequencies to suit their personal listening preference and the specific environmental noise conditions.

Automatic Acoustic Feedback Suppression

This technology intelligently manages audio to prevent the annoying high-pitched feedback squeal, which is crucial when multiple radios are in close proximity.

All Day Power - Uninterrupted Work

The standard high density 2300 mAh Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery (PMNN4598A) delivers up to 19.5 hours of power in analogue mode (5/5/90 profile). A simple press of the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button provides an immediate visual low-battery warning via a blinking LED light, ensuring you’re never caught off guard.

Designed for Seamless Integration

The R2 is an ideal choice for businesses transitioning or maintaining an existing analogue fleet.

Compatibitity with Existing Fleets

The R2 features the same familiar 2-pin accessory connector as the older DP1400 and CP040 models, allowing you to use your existing chargers and audio accessories (headsets, remote speaker microphones) for a low-cost, easy migration.

Simple Functionality

With a maximum of 64 channels and two programmable buttons, the R2 is built for straightforward operation. The buttons can be customised for essential functions like Voice Announcement, Lone Worker, Emergency Alert, or Scan. The large, contoured PTT Button is easy to locate and activate, even when wearing gloves, further supporting confident, quick communication.

Frequencies

The Motorola R2 is available in both UHF and VHF Frequencies.

The Frequency UHF (400-480 MHz), is generally better for indoor use, built-up areas, and environments with obstructions like buildings and concrete, as UHF waves can penetrate these materials more effectively.

The Frequency VHF (136-174 MHz), is generally better for outdoor use and open areas, as VHF waves travel further over clear lines of sight.
