The Ergonomically Designed Push-to-Talk Headset Amplifier from JPL is for use in Situations Where Secure Mission Critical Conversations are Needed - Available with Selectable Momentary and Lockable Operation and Momentary Operation Only
Push to Talk (PTT) Headsets are a type of communication device that allow users to communicate with each other by pressing and releasing the microphone trigger switch that opens and closes the microphone on the Headset. This type of Headset is used in environments where privacy and security are important and these types of Headsets are used frequently by Emergency Services, Military, Dispatch Centres and Airlines.
The JPL Scout Push to Talk Switch enables users to attach a Headset with a Quick Disconnect (QD) Connection or a Headset with a 3.5mm Connection to the Scout to enable Push to Talk features to be used.
The main advantages of using Push to Talk (PTT) Headsets are that they allow users to communicate clearly and quickly in noisy, high pressure environments. Sensitive information that is exchanged is protected and secure as you have full control over the transmitting of audio simply by using the trigger switch.
With your finger naturally resting on the trigger switch, you can simply press to activate the microphone and speak freely. Release the trigger switch to instantly mute the microphone, Information is only transmitted when the trigger switch is pressed - giving you complete control of the call at your fingertips.
Two versions are available - Selectable Momentary and Lockable Operation and Momentary Operation only (Non Lockable)

The Scout has been designed with an LED indicator - this lights up green when the microphone is active and in use, and turns to red when the microphone is muted, giving users peace of mind when relaying sensitive and confidential information.
The Scout has been ergonomically designed to fit in the palm of your hand, it also comes with a replaceable belt clip that can be clipped either on the left hand or right hand side depending on the users preference. It is made from durable toughend plastics to that allows the Scout to withstand heavy and constant use in the harshest of conditions.
TAA Compliant refers to products that adhere to the U.S. Trade Agreements Act (TAA) of 1979. This legislation mandates that products listed on the GSA Schedule must be either manufactured or significantly altered in the U.S. or a specific TAA-approved country.
The National defence Authorization Act (NDAA) further restricts the purchase of certain telecommunications and video surveillance equipment and components produced by specific foreign entities (e.g., Huawei, ZTE, and their subsidiaries) for government use, particularly by the Department of Defence.
