

The Algo 8196 IP PoE+ Horn Speaker is a powerful SIP-based network speaker designed for clear voice paging, emergency alerts and loud ringing across demanding indoor and outdoor environments. Delivering up to 119 dB SPL and 16W maximum audio power when used independently with PoE+, it provides excellent voice intelligibility for warehouses, factories, transport facilities, industrial sites and other high-noise locations.
Powered using PoE+, the 8196 combines power and network connectivity through the Ethernet infrastructure, helping simplify installation and reduce additional cabling. Its IP66-rated, UV-stabilised enclosure and operating temperature range of -40°C to +50°C make it suitable for indoor, outdoor and wet environments when correctly installed
Designed for professional VoIP / SIP paging, the Algo 8196 combines high-output audio with support for G.711, G.722 Wideband and Opus Fullband codecs. An 80° horizontal × 50° vertical dispersion pattern helps direct announcements effectively across the required coverage area.
The integrated omnidirectional microphone provides ambient noise monitoring and hands-free talkback, allowing the speaker to adapt to changing noise conditions while also supporting two-way communication applications.
The Algo 8196 can operate independently or power and supervise up to three optional Algo 1196 Satellite Horn Speakers (sold separately), providing a cost-effective way to expand audio coverage.
Satellite speakers connect using standard Ethernet patch cables in a daisy-chain configuration, reducing the number of network ports and cable drops required. The 8196 automatically detects connected satellite speakers and monitors their connection status, helping simplify larger installations.
When satellite speakers are connected, the available 16W audio power is shared equally between the 8196 and connected 1196 speakers.




The 8196 supports SIP paging, emergency alert and ring extensions, alongside the ability to send and receive RTP multicast across up to 50 zones. Secure communications are supported through TLS, SRTP and mutual authentication.
With 1GB of onboard audio storage, WAV and MP3 files can also be stored for pre-recorded announcements, alerts and notification tones.
Configuration is available through a web interface or provisioning server, with Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) helping simplify larger and multi-site deployments.
Built for demanding environments, the Algo 8196 features an IP66-rated enclosure manufactured from UV-stabilised outdoor-rated plastic with stainless steel mounting hardware.
The speaker can be installed on a wall, ceiling or double-gang electrical box, with three-axis adjustment allowing the horn to be directed towards the required coverage area. An optional pole-mount bracket is also available.
