Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8254 DECT Handset

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8254 DECT Handset is a robust professional wireless handset designed for reliable mobile communications across compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DECT environments.

Built for more demanding workplace applications, the 8254 combines an IP65-rated design, antibacterial materials, easy-clean keypad, 1.8-inch colour display, hands-free speakerphone and up to 20 hours talk time in a compact handset weighing approximately 132g.

Its durable and hygienic construction makes it particularly well suited to healthcare, retail, hospitality, manufacturing and other professional environments where employees need to remain connected while moving around the workplace. ALE positions the 8254 for mission-critical communications.

Please Note - The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8254 is a DECT system handset and requires compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise telephone system and DECT infrastructure to operate; it is not a standalone cordless telephone.

This product is supplied as the handset package only, the desktop charging cradle and power supply are not included, and are available separately.

Rugged IP65 Protection

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8254 features IP65-rated protection against dust and water ingress, helping protect the handset during intensive everyday use.

Its robust construction has also undergone extensive free-fall testing, including 12 drops onto concrete with testing extended to a height of 2 metres, providing additional reassurance in environments where accidental drops may occur.

Antibacterial & Easy-Clean Construction

The 8254 has been designed with hygiene in mind, making it particularly suitable for environments such as healthcare, hospitality and shared workplaces.

Antibacterial materials are used across several areas of the handset, including the plastic components, lens coating, rubber grip and keyboard. ALE specifies an ISO 22196 antibacterial reduction rate greater than 99.9%.

An easy clean keypad membrane also makes the handset easier to clean than conventional keypads where dirt and contaminants can collect between individual keys.

1.8-Inch Colour Display

A 1.8-inch graphical colour display provides convenient access to calls, messages and supported system functions.

The screen offers 128 × 160 pixel resolution with up to 65,000 colours, while white display and keypad backlighting help make the handset easier to operate in different working environments.

Hands-Free Calling

An integrated hands-free speakerphone allows employees to manage calls without continuously holding the handset, providing greater flexibility while completing other tasks.

The 8254 also provides microphone mute and Automatic Gain Control, helping support clear and convenient everyday professional communications.

3.5mm Headset Connectivity

For users who prefer to handle calls through a headset, the 8254 incorporates a 3.5mm TRRS-compliant headset connection.

This allows a compatible wired headset to be connected directly to the handset, making it useful for employees who need to keep both hands available while communicating.

Up to 20 Hours Talk Time

A replaceable 1100mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 20 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time, helping the handset remain available throughout long working periods.

Charging takes less than three hours when the handset is used with compatible charging equipment.

Vibration Alert

An integrated vibration alert provides a discreet way of being notified of incoming communications, particularly useful in busy or noisy workplaces where an audible ringtone may be difficult to hear or inappropriate.

The handset also provides audio and LED message signalling for additional notification options.

Alarm & Supported Location Functions

The 8254 supports an alarm button call, activated through a long or multiple press depending on the connected system, with alarm acknowledgement also being able to be protected by password.

The handset also supports DECT base station triangulation with up to four base stations, with location data able to be transmitted alongside notification messages. Compatible system infrastructure and an external server are required for supported location functionality
