Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8234 DECT Handset

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8234 DECT Handset is a compact professional wireless handset designed to keep employees connected while moving throughout compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DECT environments.

Designed for intensive workplace communications, the 8234 combines a 1.8-inch colour display, hands-free speakerphone, 3.5mm headset connection, vibration alert and long battery life in a lightweight handset suitable for offices, retail environments, large campuses and other professional workplaces. ALE describes it as providing access to its phone system services when used within compatible infrastructure.

Please Note - The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8234 is a DECT system handset and requires compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DECT infrastructure to operate. It is not designed for standalone use. This product is supplied as the 8234 handset package only. A desktop charging cradle and power supply are not included.

Professional DECT Mobility

The ALE 8234 is designed for employees who need to remain contactable while moving around their workplace rather than being restricted to a desk telephone.

It supports DECT roaming and handover functionality, helping maintain communications as users move throughout a compatible DECT deployment. The handset can be registered with up to four systems, with manual or automatic system selection available.

1.8-Inch Colour Display

A 1.8-inch graphical colour display with 128 x 160 pixel resolution and 65,000 colours provides a clear interface for accessing calls, directories, messages and supported system functions.

White display and keypad backlighting help make the handset easier to operate in different workplace lighting conditions.

Hands-Free Calling & Headset Connectivity

An integrated hands-free speakerphone gives users the option of handling calls without continuously holding the handset, while microphone mute provides additional control during conversations.

For users who prefer a headset, the 8234 incorporates a 3.5mm TRRS headset connection for compatible wired headsets.

Up to 20 Hours Talk Time

The 8234 is powered by an easily replaceable 1100mAh lithium-ion battery, providing up to 20 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time.

Charging takes less than three hours with the appropriate charging equipment, helping keep the handset ready for regular professional use.

Call, Message & Status Notifications

A three-colour LED provides visual notification of battery status, missed calls and messages, while the handset also includes a vibration mode for discreet incoming-call alerts.

Users can select from six polyphonic ringtones with adjustable volume settings, including a meeting mode for quieter working environments.

Access ALE Communication Features

When used with compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise infrastructure, the 8234 supports ALE's AGAP features, including access to personal and system directories and a centralised call log.

The call log can provide access to answered, dialled and missed calls, with support for up to 50 call-log entries.

Compact Design for Mobile Employees

Measuring approximately 119 x 48.5 x 21mm and weighing just 117g, the 8234 is compact enough to carry comfortably throughout the working day.

A belt clip is supplied with the handset, providing a convenient way for mobile employees to keep the handset readily accessible when moving between work areas.
