It enables SMS text messaging and is easily programmable to define a group of radios within a range. The DTR2430 also features an audio jack, Push To Talk button, Caller ID, call forwarding and a 150 name contact list. Furthermore, the radio is tested to US Military standards, making it highly resistant to shock, dust, temperature extremes and water.

Call and talk privately with a specific user's radio.
A private call recipient can receive an alert — either an audible or vibrating signal. And the recipient's unit displays the caller's ID.

Digital One-to-Many calling
Public Group Call.
All other Motorola DTR Series™ radios on the same group ID and channel hear communications, similar to an analog radio operation.

Private Group Call.
Program your Motorola DTR Series radios to communicate with specific sets of group members. Caller ID displays group identification.

Call Forwarding to Other Radio IDs.
Notify others that you're unavailable and allow them to speak to another contact for assistance.

Caller ID.
Motorola DTR Series receiving radios display the radio ID of the transmitting unit and, if listed in the receiving radio's contact list, the transmitting unit's radio name.

Short Message Service (SMS) Text Messaging.
For added convenience, the Motorola DTR2430 is capable of sending and receiving 15 preset messages and also allows for keyed-in custom messages to meet more specific needs.
