Q: How does the headset register to the system?

A: The C351N will register to your main base unit effectively as an additional handset on your cordless phone system, so for example if you have a twin handset, your C351N will be handset number 3 on the system. 

When registering the headset to your cordless phone system, if you check your phone's manual and look up the section on "registering a new handset", you need only follow the instructions on how to put your base unit into registration mode (this is usually achieved simply by pressing and holing the "page", or "find" button on the base unit for aproximately three to five seconds until a beep is heard).  When following instructions on registering a handset, refer to the C351's manual and put the headset into registration mode at the same time.

Q: How do I answer or end calls on the headset?

A: If a call comes in, you will hear a soft beeping noise in the headset and will be able to simply press the button on the side of the headset to answer the call.  When you have finished talking you can again, press the button on the headset to end the call.

Q: How do I make a call from the headset?

A: Because the headset is registered to your base unit effectively as an additional handset, a handset with no dial pad, then you can't directly make outgoing calls from the headset.  You can, however, make a call from one of your handsets and then transfer the call internally to your headset. Usually achieved by pressing the "int" button on your handset, then dialling the number corresponding to your headset - this would be 3 as in the case mentioned above with a twin pack and the headset.  You can then answer the internal call on your headset and terminate the call from the handset, therefore transferring the call over to the headset.  N.B This sounds MUCH more complicated than it actually is... it is a procedure that can be achieved in seconds and works as quickly as you'd expect on a regular office system.

Q: Can I adjust the volume and mute calls on the headset?

A: Yes, there are controls on the headset that allow you to do this easily and quickly.

**Please note that the C351N will not work with Philips Cordless phones - this is due to the registration code being different in Philips phones**
