The Siemens C475 IP is combined VoIP and analogue landline cordeless phone with some unusual features like being able to display the weather forcecast or the news headlines on the handset when idle. The phone is very customisable, for instance there are two programmable buttons under the display which can be configured to provide direct access to various features. The email client can indicate if you have new mail but it is limited to POP3 accounts on email servers that use the standard non-encrypted port, so no Google Mail. There is also a chat client which works with Jabber networks. All options in the phone can be configured through the built-in web server, just plug the base station into your home network, press the page button and check the IP address on the handset and type that into your browser.
And once set up it\'s pretty good phone too! Large buttons and a crisp display makes it easy to use. The only thing that could be improved is to make it slightly snappier when pressing buttons, sometimes it take half a second or so before anything happens.
